National Service Scheme
The NSS is a voluntary association of young students in the college. The motto of the NSS is ‘NOT ME BUT YOU’ this reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service, discipline and social service are necessary qualities of good citizen. NSS helps to inculcate the qualities among the students. The NSS has gained momentum as a premier youth organization of the country.
Our college NSS Units
In our college NSS unit – I and NSS unit – II have been working with 200 volunteers. The NSS programme provide a variety of learning experience which helps to develop sense of participation, service and achievement among the volunteers, NSS activities have been divided in two major groups.
Regular NSS activities
Students undertake various programmes in the adopted village, college campus and urban slums during the week end of after college hours and also conduct AIDS awareness programme, blood donation, Campaigning for the eradication of use of Drugs ,tobacco and plastic etc.
Special Camp activities
Every year 7 days duration special camp will be held in the adopted village during the midterm vocation. In special camp NSS volunteers plan a remarkable role by involving themselves in various creative constructive activities such as creating tangible assets like janata houses, community hall, bus shelter, road construction and repairs, Samaj mandir. Our NSS volunteers have rendered yeoman service during the Medical checkup and Eyes camp etc.
The volunteers who completes two service and attend one special camp receives a certificate which is given due weightage during the selection for higher studies and employment. The NSS volunteers get a lot of opportunities at the state level and university level leadership training camps and R D parades.
